The Ragdoll is a firm large cat with
a medium to strong boned muscular body. Solid in the overall appearence.
The Ragdoll appears in three patterns: colourpoint, mitted and bicolour,
and in colours: seal, blue, chocolate,lilac, red, cream, tabby and
tortie.
Head
Medium size, broad modified wedge with the
appearance of a flat plane between the ears. The nose should show
a slight curve in the upper third. Cheeks well developed, tapering
a well developed medium long muzzzle and well developed chin.
Faults: Narrow head, stop, roman nose.
Ears
Medium size, broad at the base with rounded tips. Set wide
on the skull with a slight tilt forward.
Faults: Large or small ears, pointed ears.
Eyes
Large and oval. Outer edge of the eye aperture to be level
with the base of the ears. Colour blue, the more intensive the better
in relation to the body colour.
Faults: Almond eyes. Disqualification: Other than blue eyes.
Body
Short and strong neck. Long body, medium bone structure muscular.
Chest broad and well developed. Muscular and heavier in the hind quarters.
The mature cat is as broad at shoulders as it is at the hind quarters.
Faults: To long and thin neck. Cobby body, narrow chest.
Tail
Long, medium broad at the base, slightly tapered towards
the tip and in proportions to the body. Well furnished, bushy.
Faults: Short tail, blunt tip.
Coat
Medium long, dense, soft and silky texture, lying with the
body and breaking when the cat moves. Longest around the neck and
framing the outer edge of the face giving the appearence of a bib.
Short on the face increasing in length from the top of the head to
the shoulders down the back. Medium to long on the sides, abdomen
and hind quarters. Short to medium long on the front legs.
Faults: Short coat (seasonal allowed)
Remarks
Females noticeably smaller than males. Male jowls should
be taken into consideration. Developement is slow.
Variants:
Colourpoint:Points (ears, mask, legs and tail) must be well
defined and in harmony with the body colour. Body colour is lighter
than the point colour. Slight shadings of colour are allowed on the
body and the stomach. Colour on the nose and pads must be analouge
to the points.
Faults: White spots.
Mitted: Points (except paws and chin) and body colour
like the clolourpoint. White mittens on the front legs. Hind legs
white up to the higher hock, spots in the white area is acceptable.
White chin and preferably a white stripe on the nose. There should
also be a white stripe going from the bib over the stomach up to the
base of the tail.
Faults: Dark spots on the gloves or stomach. Be missing a white
stripe going from the bib over the stomach. Be missing a white chin.
Bi-colour: Points (ears,mask, legs and tail) must
be well defined. The mask must have an inverted white V. The stomach
must be white and without spots. Legs preferebly white. Body colour
lighter than points. White spots on the back are allowed. Nose leather
and paw pads are pink.
